Myths and fables are narratives that were traditionally used to explain certain facts and phenomena, as well as behaviour patterns. Narrative is a tool we have been using to share fantasies and realities, world views and ideals.
Visual pleasure has always been part of art and culture. Mass media productions tend to focus on spectacularity, reinforcing voyeurism and relegating the player as a mere spectator bound to what’s presented to them. Are we working too much on pompous but empty containers? Are we underestimating the average consumer? Is it a tendency in games to produce in that direction?
